Chloe Rodgers has followed a remarkable 2020 with her first release of the new year, ‘Coins For Charon’. The track opens with an atmospheric, unaccompanied piano and allows Rodgers’ voice to float melodically and hypnotically above. Within a couple of minutes, a waft of fat percussion has joined for the chorus, taking the tune in an almost danceable direction without losing that hazy vibe of the verses. She describes the Anders Källmark and Nick van Hofwegan-penned track as “about losing someone you love. The dynamic change and percussion in the chorus was a good call, and the drummer (Giovanni Velez), is a genius.” Keep an eye out for more from Rodgers over the course of 2021. -Dan Peeke
